Trade Market Opens: Brewers Acquire Right-Handed Starter Aaron Civale from Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers have kicked off the MLB trade market by acquiring right-handed starter Aaron Civale (29) from the Tampa Bay Rays. According to sources cited by 'The Athletic' and other local media on the 3rd, the Brewers will send Venezuelan minor league infielder Gregory Barrios (20) to the Rays in exchange.

Civale, this season with Tampa Bay, started 17 games, pitching 87 innings with a 2-6 record and a 5.07 ERA. He has consistently performed over six MLB seasons with a career record of 33-32 and a 4.10 ERA.

Milwaukee, leading the NL Central, urgently needs to strengthen their starting rotation. They've used 15 different starting pitchers this season, the second-most in MLB, highlighting their rotation struggles. Recently, they also acquired Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel from the Seattle Mariners' minor league team.

Tampa Bay, with starters Jeffrey Springs and Shane Baz nearing return, had room to adjust their rotation, facilitating this trade.

Barrios, playing in high Single-A this season, appeared in 60 games with a .317 batting average, a .361 on-base percentage, a .426 slugging percentage, 1 home run, 34 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases. He can play both second base and shortstop and has been praised as a "special defender" by scouts according to 'The Athletic.'먹튀검증
